High school football practices are slated to begin August 10th, with all other fall sports beginning August 12th.
If fall sports are forced to be cancelled, the MHSAA says they could be played later in the year as part of a modified calendar.
There is also a scenario where some "lower-risk" fall sports could be played as normal, while higher-risk sports could be postponed until later in the year.
“Our student-athletes just want to play, and we’ve gone far too long without them playing. But doing so safely, of course, remains the priority,” MHSAA Executive Director Mark Uyl said. “Our plan moving forward is Fall in the Fall, starting on time."
