The Home Garden Business EXPO rescheduled for August will be cancelled due to the Governor’s Executive Order 2020-115 (June 5, 2020) preventing indoor gatherings of more than 50 people.
The EXPO committee has begun working with the Downtown Owosso Farmers Market to provide two free outdoor display opportunities for businesses on Saturday, August 22nd and Saturday, September 19th. “Business on Ball” is a special area of the market just for local businesses to display and sell products or services. Any business interested in participating may contact the chamber at 989-723-5149 to register and for more information.
“We are disappointed to have to cancel the 2020 EXPO but feel this is in the best interest of our vendors and certainly our guests,” said EXPO Chairman Kevin Maurer of Maurer Heating & Cooling. “The planning committee has not taken this decision lightly, however we must abide by the current recommendations for public health and safety,” added Maurer.

Chamber President/CEO Jeff Deason added, “It is unfortunate to have to cancel a long-standing and popular event like the Home Garden Business EXPO presented by Memorial Healthcare. With the challenges all our businesses face in reopening as well as staffing and volunteer shortages, we are just unable to make it happen this year. We’d like to thank D’Mar Banquet & Conference Center for working with us on hosting the event in a new venue. Their staff has been wonderful.”
Local, state and federal business resources are updated weekly on the Chamber’s website. Businesses that have questions regarding the EXPO may email skadlek@shiawasseechamber.org or call Sue Kadlek directly at 989-720-5047.
