Winter Weather Advisory

2 to 5 Inches of Snow on Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of the lower peninsula, as a strong winter weather event that is expected to drop a significant amount of snow moves our way.

For Shiawassee County, the Winter Weather Advisory officially goes into effect beginning at 7am on Wednesday and continues until 12am on Thursday.

The latest report from the National Weather Service calls for a storm total of 2 to 6 inches for most of southeast Michigan, with Shiawassee County and the Flint area seeing 3 to 4 inches of accumulation.

Snow is expected to begin falling early Wednesday morning and to continue falling throughout the day, peaking during the afternoon hours, the agency says.
