Joint Job Fair Tuesday in St. Johns for Dairy Facilities

New Operation Will Hire 290 People

Several businesses and organizations are partnering to open new dairy facilities near St. Johns. Glanbia, in a partnership with Dairy Farmers of America and Select Milk Producers, is working to build a nearly $500 million dollar plant north of St. Johns, and another company, Proliant Dairy Ingredients, an adjacent $85 million plant.

The total operation, a more than half billion dollar enterprise that is expected to be the largest in Michigan, will be called MWC, and is expected to open by October.

A job fair will be held on Tuesday February 18th at Agroliquid in St. Johns, 3055 M-21, for anyone interested in becoming employed at the facility, which will produce milk and cheese and perform other functions related to dairy in various products.

The job fair will be held from 8am to 5pm.

A number of positions are being offered. Most will be hourly and an MWC representative says pay will be "competitive for the market."
