County residents are still required to wear face masks when indoors and are encouraged to wear them in crowded outdoor areas. “Studies have shown that wearing face masks can reduce the spread of COVID-19. If we work together as a community to take precautions, we can spread hope and not COVID-19. It’s up to all of us to continue doing our part to slow the spread of COVID-19.” states Larry Johnson, Health Director.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services also released the “Spread Hope, Not COVID” campaign this week which includes facts about mask-wearing and other pre-cautions Michiganders must take to control the virus, including:

• Practice social distancing by staying 6 feet away from others

• Washing and sanitizing your hands frequently

• Getting tested for COVID-19 if you feel sick or have been in close contact with someone who is sick
