Professional and talented amateur artists are lending a hand to help Shiawassee Humane Society (SHS) raise funds to continue to meet the mission of providing caring solutions for the unmet needs of the local pet population. They are waiting to transform your beloved pet’s photo into a unique and creative work of art. The medium will be as varied as the artist, from digital to charcoal drawing to a painting and the size of the finished piece will be up to the artist. No guarantees given on the finished piece – the final piece will be a surprise, but certainly guaranteed to be one of a kind.

There's more to the story!  Keep reading!

The Pet Portrait Palooza fundraiser is limited to 50 pet portraits for a donation of $50 each. Purchasers will be randomly assigned to an artist who will create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece based on a photo supplied by the donor. Our artists are eagerly awaiting their assignments of your dogs, cats, birds, reptiles or any pet to begin applying their artistic talents. Our artists are a mix of professional and talented amateurs and include such locally well-known artists as Marti Lementi, Susan Newcomb, Debbie Fehrenbach, Michaela Fehrenbach, Pat Skvarenina, Rebecca Martin and Michael Hudson.

As a special offering, well-known artist Xavier of Owosso will paint 10 master creations for a special price of $300 each. Xavier is based in Owosso and is renowned for being a figurative artist. Typically, his work is heavily textured with a muted palette, but he will go where his inspiration takes him.

To order place your order, click here or go online to Eventbrite and search for “Pet Portrait Palooza” and remember, the number of portraits is limited to 50 and Xavier’s work is limited to 10, so hurry and sign up today!
