Barbara Joyce Matney, age 61 of Owosso, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at her home. A Celebration of Life honoring Barbara will be announced by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.

Barbara was born April 13, 1958 in Durand, Michigan to Hugh Whittier and Donna Joyce (Cummins) McDaniels. She graduated from Byron High School and went on to marry Billy Matney, Jr. on July 22, 1988. Barbara enjoyed spending her time knitting, reading, crocheting, baking, playing bingo, shopping for great deals and watching horror movies. But her great love was that of her grandchildren; she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Barbara is survived by both of her parents; Hugh Whittier and Donna Joyce (Cummins) McDaniels, her husband of 31 years; Billy, her children; Krystyn (Ricardo) Midence, Kimberly Matney, John Matney, and Matthew Matney, her grandchildren; Dezylyah, Adryenne, Edynn, Kylie, Jayden, and Heidi, and her brother; Orville McDaniels.
